Bugged Enemy Cast Bar

Recommended Posts

I managed to fix this.

It's not related to any addon or the cache/wtf folders; removing them does nothing. This is an issue with screen refresh and/or windows compatibility settings. I was playing at 144hz (with g-sync and 1440p) and noticed that in-game if I dropped my refresh down to 60hz the problem went away. Of course I wasn't going to play at that horrible refresh, so I got to digging. I tried turning off g-sync, etc but that made no difference. I'm still not sure what exactly fixed it, but after resetting my graphics options  to defaults in-game then exiting and restarting, my problems went away. I was even able to put the graphics options back where they were (and to go back to 144hz), and now the cast bars are acting normal again.

I believe this has more to do with windows high DPI scaling (in compatibility settings) but don't want to mess with it anymore. It's fixed for me.

So you just have to reset your graphic option?

Hello!

I have gotten this issue aswell.

Changing refreshrate doesn't make it better for me.

I'm currently updating Nvidia drivers to see if that makes difference

Hi all,

So I found a solution for people who have castbars that do not work.

Either use "PlateCastBar" by Schaka (if you just want the castbars): https://github.com/Schaka/PlateCastBar

Or use ElvUI for TBC (castbars+full UI overhaul): https://github.com/ElvUI-TBC/ElvUI

Or, as suggested by user null on the NW discord:

"Nameplate Casting Bar Fix": https://cdn.wowinterface.com/downloads/fileinfo.php?id=8159&so=newest&page=1

Edit: Admins, perhaps sticky this info as I believe the castbar issue is prevalent amongst all players. Please confirm.
