  1. For me it's not about the game itself, but it's the group of people you enjoy playing with. The guys in my guild are a good laugh, and have been with them since Nostalrius and play other games, such as Path of Exile. I don't think I would be here if it was a solo experience.

    Mouseover macro

This is mine: /cast [modifier:alt, target=player][target=mouseover, help][help] Greater Heal; [harm] Smite Priority here is alt self casting, then mouseover target, then normal target for Greater Heal, before falling back to a damaging spell. The help modifier checks that the unit exists and you can cast helpful spells on it. the harm modifier checks if the unit exists and you can cast harmful spells on it.

Should hopefully be working after maintenance 01:36]Wolfenstein: [2739][Core/Spell] Anticipation will no longer prevent Defense skill-ups
  4. Consider this line of thought (Occam's Razor if you will): It was simply an assumption that the release would create a number of challenges to overcome, but ultimately allow them time to build the system before players progressed through Outland content in any real number. What we actually got was a nightmare scenario which basically threw all of their plans out of the window, throw in some oversight for difficulty of implementation and now everything is painfully delayed, and the problem exasperated as a result. There is so much paranoia and accusations being thrown around about being "lied to" here that it's laughable.

  6. I'm trying to get my head around this "50% more chance to form groups etc" analogy, surely this is still dependent on faction pop at the end of the day? As an example, if you had a 50/50 server with 4000 players on each side, or a 60/40 server with 5000 players, you still end up with 2000 players on the lowest ratio faction. An important metric throughout all of this is that the total realm population is maintained or increased. Hopefully the transfer option will encourage more of a balance for faction interaction occurrences (read: pvp), but forcing a queue without the transfer option only serves to frustrate and reduce the realm population down to an even ratio, whilst still not providing Alliance any more players to form these said groups or compete on the auction house with. It's rather optimistic to assume said frustrated Horde players will gladly roll a new account/character from level 1 again. A scenario I think most people would like to avoid is continuously achieving/enforcing a faction balance that gradually brings down the overall population whenever players on the lesser populated faction take a break or quit. 50/50 sounds good, but then you reach a point you have only 1500 players (or even less) in each faction. All that would mean is that both sides have lost out on player pools to do good content with. I believe the staff here when they say that transfers are coming. I also believe that they really really don't want to fuck this up and continuously crash the server, break the database or lose characters from accounts.
  7. You seem to be mistaken, it's not the job of others to prove your statement wrong, it's your job to prove your statement right. That said, please feel free to create a separate thread for restoration druids, including PvP mechanics, or make a post in the PvP forum section, with your findings.
  8. Update: - Migrated all item links over to http://db.hellfire-tbc.com - Added missing item links for Cat post - Corrected misc formatting issues Thanks for the additional information auxfluid. [Wolfshead Helm] was acknowledged during TBC retail but often overlooked in these EJ threads. I guess Dukes was too much of a bear tank at heart! I'll not add it as I want to retain the originality of the post, for archival reasons. However I will add a link to your contribution within the Cat post as a editor's note.

    Please make it stop

They're advertising in world chat now? That's a bold move Cotton.
  10. Classic raids are planned but low priority, with the current backlog of class mechanic fixes, Outland raid fixes and scripting of the The Eye to be performed, even before we get to looking at The Black Temple, I would seriously doubt this will be any time soon.
  11. This is a good example of why you should always play the faction/race/class that you enjoy and not because of external factors. If there's a queue, there's a queue, c'est la vie.
  12. Yep, this is exactly how World of Warcraft worked for many years. For example as a shadow priest, when you are casting Vampiric Touch followed by Shadow Word: Pain, you will expect the DoTs to hit the NPC at the exactly the same time. (Tip: You can also cast Mind Blast immediately followed by Vampiric Embrace and receive the healing caused by the Mind Blast damage). This mechanic actually works favourably for my class as it lines up the spell cast timings perfectly, you can read many forum posts archived on shadowpriest.com as to how your rotation/casting priority should indeed play out.
  13. Having tried both the addon in my second post out and this one, I've made the switch to IgnoreLevel. My suggested add-on has caused issues with ElvUI and LUA errors all over the place.
  14. In the meantime, I've heard favourable reports that the following addon works well to block unwarranted messages, give it a go. https://wow.curseforge.com/projects/spam-me-not (you will need Release-2.5.14)
